Broken Hill - Mining and Artistic Oasis in Australia's Outback at 2007-11-08 14:15:50 -0500
Flying over the vast plains of the Australian outback, there is little to see but occasional kangaroos or emus. Then as your airplane descends, you will observe a large town surrounded by greenery in the middle of the desert. This is the mining town of Broken Hill, New South Wales, home to one of the world's largest lodes of silver, lead and zinc. It is also home to the Brushmen of the Bush school of artists.
